AC1200 is a Wi-Fi performance class. Wirext™ advertises wireless link rates of up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. These are theoretical wireless rates and should not be confused with a guaranteed 1,200 Mbps internet connection.
Yes. Wirext™ is advertised as an 802.11ac dual-band device, supporting both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity.
The manufacturer advertises extended coverage of up to approximately 2,640 square feet. Actual range depends heavily on your home's construction, router location, extender placement, interference and the strength of the original Wi-Fi signal.
Wirext's current product page advertises support for up to approximately 25 connected devices. Real-world performance will depend on your internet connection, router, device activity and how much bandwidth each connected device is using.
For best results, place Wirext™ between your main router and the weak-signal area while keeping it within a reasonably strong signal from the router. Placing an extender directly inside a complete Wi-Fi dead zone can reduce its effectiveness.
